Christmas Cookie | 2019

Hello Friends!! Today I’m sharing the best Christmas cookie recipe with you. One that not only you won’t be able to stop eating, but it also makes a great gift too!! They are super easy to make, but look oh-so-fancy, no one will ever know just how easy they are to make, and you only need 3 ingredients to make them. These are my go-to Christmas cookie, and the best part is there is no baking involved! So if baking has you intimidated – I’ve got you covered!

Come and see my chocolate covered peppermint oreos~

There are a few different ways I have made these in the past, but my secret to making these feel extra festive during the holiday season is the peppermint. Not only does the refreshing crushed peppermint sprinkled on the outside taste great with the chocolate, I get peppermint oreos too – for double the peppermint experience.

You can typically find them this time of year during the holidays, as they are a seasonal special. So if you are looking for them and it isn’t October – December, you might be out of luck. In which case the mint oreos or regular are always great too! I tend to find them on the aisle ends of the grocery store, at either Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s – who even has a gluten free peppermint oreo.

Here’s what you need ~

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of oreos ( I opt for mint or peppermint for extra holiday flavor).
  • 12 ounces of milk chocolate (for melting)
  • Crushed peppermint for topping.

Directions:

  • Melt chocolate, of choice, in microwave in 30 second increments, stirring occasionally. *In my opinion, Ghirardelli Melting Wafers yield the best melted chocolate.*
  • Use a fork to dip each Oreo in the chocolate.
  • Place the Oreos back on drying rack over cookie sheet allowing the access to drip off.
  • Sprinkle the crushed peppermint candy over the Oreos (do this before the chocolate is completely set so the candies will stick).

And Enjoy! I love to serve mine during the holidays when family comes over, or give them as gifts to our neighbors and friends. The added peppermint crunch tastes great for the holidays, and they are such a sweet treat to give & receive!
